Yoga

Yoga, which originated in India over 5000 years ago is an ancient art with significant scientifically proven benefits.  The word yoga was derived from the Sanskrit root “yuj” which means to unite.

Yoga is not simply an exercise system.  It is a philosophy with an aim for bringing the mind, body and soul into balance.  With regular practice the individual is able to develop a greater awareness on both the physical and psychological states leading to a stress free lifestyle.  Calmness becomes a natural state of the mind through the regular practice of meditation and pranayama (breath control) combined with asanas (postures).  In addition yoga helps to relax, strengthen and cleanse the body.

At the highest level, through yogic practices, the individual self begins to unite with the universal being which leads to the beginning stages of self realization.

“Yoga brings stillness to the mind through breadth, movement and alignment”

One to One sessions

In a one to one session, Medini will discuss your background and circumstances (which will include any medical issues) and establish your needs and preferences.  At the end of the session you will take away a program which you will be required to practice each day of the week.  You will also be given a telephone number to contact us on with any queries you may have during the week.  The beauty of doing yoga on a one to one basis is that it enables every individual to be treated in exactly the right way for them. This is called “Viniyoga” or correct application of yoga.
